News - HORSHAM BEER FESTIVAL 2008

I was told recently by Horsham District Council that the Drill Hall would not be available for the Horsham Beer Festival this year. After a week of mad panic while I searched desperately for an alternative venue HDC decided that the building work planned for the Drill Hall would not happen this year so the Beer Festival could take place there after all. So its business as usual and tickets for the Beer Festival go on sale on Saturday 28th June (its worth getting in quick as the tickets are selling out earlier every year!)

The dates for this year's Beer Festival are Saturday 20th September (2 sessions 12noon-4pm and 6pm-10pm) and Sunday 21st September (1 session 12 noon-4pm).

Hot and cold food will be available at all sessions plus live entertainment.

Please call the shop on 01403 218890 if you require any further info.

A big thankyou to everyone who supported Horsham Beer Festival 2007 and for helping to raise £500 for The Horsham Springboard Project. This charity provides vital support for local young people with special needs. Below is a picture of me handing over the dheque to Laura Fletcher from Springboard.

In March the horses that were entered into Rusper Races stopped off at the shop halfway through their warm up lap of the town for a well-earned drink!

Rusper Races are organised by the Royal Oak, Friday Street, Rusper, which was recently awarded North Sussex CAMRA's Pub of the Year 2008.

On May 10th 2008 the Broadwood Morris men organised a day of dance in Horsham town centre. Lots of different Morris sides danced all over the town. I sponsored the event and offered some refreshment to a number of thirsty dancers!

Check out the pictures below including an unofficial world record attempt for the most Morris Men in a Beer Shop!
